Metro ViStart mockup by DeathShot39 Metro ViStart mockup by DeathShot39
Quick mockup of a Metro skin for ViStart... although I'm not sure how to actually skin it since all the files seem to be protected nowadays? Will have to look into that.

FOR ANYBODY WHO WANTS IT:

Replace the original files with these. It's just a quick implementation though, so it's not perfect.

Check the description! I can't guarantee how well it'll work though.

There's also more customization you can achieve within ViStart if you open it with "ResHacker" you can replace the bitmaps there. These bitmaps control the rollovers on the items. I am considering making this changeable from the resources directory though- i'll keep you posted.

This applies to anyone who skins ViStart :) If there's anything else you cannot customize within ViStart and you really want to, drop me a line to my dA inbox and I will look into changing it.

I like that mockup, it's very simplistic. Keep up the work. About the scrollbars, unfortunately they are handled by the windows theme. Hmm i might be able to do skin them though if i made custom scrollbars.

If you don't want blur you can delete the startmenu mask file (.bmp). This tells ViStart you don't want any blur on the start menu. Deleting that will fix the draw line problem at the bottom of the start menu.

If you need any more help let me know.

Hmm yes I realized why that was happening shortly after and simply made the mask completely white, although I'll just delete it now.

I'll keep working and let you know if I need any help!

Looks very nice.:D Only i don't understand the problem. You can do nearly everyting you want with Vistart. Here's a really extreme example[link] This should be possible without any probs.:)
